SUNDAY 17 AUGUST 2025
Today the club held it's final Working Test of the 2025 season, and what a test it was, Open Walked Up on FT Lines in beet.
The Club has a long history of running events at Naburn, previously on the ground of our former President John Jewitt, who presented the club with the prestigious Naburn Cup that is presented to the winner. John sadly died a few years ago, since then Graham and Keith Atkinson of Gill Rudding Grange have kindly invited the club to continue the tradition of running on the beet at Naburn.
Thank you to our judges, Godfrey Lowe, Simon Capstick, Lucie Lowe and Ronnie Laughton, they did a great job and found it very difficult to split the dogs.
Our dummy throwers excelled themselves under the instruction of Graham Slater, thank you Graham, Simon, Stuart and Carolyn, no two retrieves were the same and the assortment of retrieves were challenging. Game Bag carriers Tracy and Chris, brilliant work, lastly Liz's right hand person Sharon, once again getting everything organised, sorry I left you to Dog Steward, a job you hadn't done before, however Twigg and Becki stepped up and kept you right.
"Thank you all"
Clubs could not run events without the volunteers who come and help on the day and Three Ridings has been lucky this year to have exceptional support.
Thank you to our sponsors Vet Spec and Sporting Saint.
After 5 dogs went into the 4th Round and a total of 6 retrieves the result was:
1st Morris Abbott with Abbottsmere High Flyer
2nd David Houghton with Kenaiteen Marvel
3rd Jason Barnes with Labdom Quinn
4th Paul Stogden with Routengill Raven
COM Jane Pilling with Mekoro Pot Luck
Congratulations to all in the awards.
Thank you to all the competitors for making it such an enjoyable day and we look forward to seeing you through the trialling season or at our events in 2026 - watch this space dates will be published soon.
