WORKING

However you want to work your Labrador gundog,

whatever stage or level you are at, we offer something for everyone.

TRAINING

We offer a variety of training days and evenings throughout the year from puppy and novice dog novice handler right through to Open Field Trial level. Training on different ground and with all the added distractions that new ground and lots of other dogs and people offer is invaluable.

We are fortunate to have a number of fantastic trainers who give up their time to for our members and for the benefit of the sport. And we have some amazing landowners and estates that allow us to use their ground to give us the variety of terrain that is so invaluable to teach ourselves and our dogs.

WORKING TESTS

Gundog working tests simulate the sort of skills a gundog needs whether competing or working in the field. They evaluate the dog's ability to retrieve game, follow commands, and exhibit discipline under various conditions.

Participating in these tests not only hones the dog's natural abilities but also strengthens the bond between owner and pet through training and teamwork. Whether aiming for competitive success or simply seeking to enhance your canine companion's capabilities, owners find Gundog working tests both rewarding and enriching.

J REGS

If you are interested in understanding more about Gundog Field Trials and perhaps become a judge yourself then one of our J Regs training and exam days will be of interest.

The Kennel Club J Regs, also known as the "Field Trial Regulations for Retriever Gundogs," are a set of guidelines and rules established by The Kennel Club (UK) for conducting retriever gundog field trials. These regulations govern various aspects of retriever trials, including eligibility criteria for participants, trial organization, judging standards, and code of conduct. They outline the requirements for entry, trial procedures, and scoring criteria, ensuring fair and consistent evaluation of participating dogs' abilities.
