Yesterday saw the last event of the clubs Working Tests and Training Season for 2025. This was not a dog training day, in fact most of the day was spent listening, asking questions and having a general discussion about what could/would/does happen at Field Trials

Today we held the first of our two informal Facilitated Walked Up session’s for 2025. These are not training days as such but informal days, no pressure, with attendees experiencing what it is like walking in line with random retrieves.

Today the club held it's final Working Test of the 2025 season, and what a test it was, Open Walked Up on FT Lines in beet. The Club has a long history of running events at Naburn, previously on the ground of our former President John Jewitt, who presented the club with the prestigious Naburn Cup that is presented to the winner.

Sunday June 1st we returned to the prestigious Warter Priory Estate, Nr Pocklington, it is a fantastic shooting estate and the club is privileged to be able to run on the ground by kind permission of the Healey Family and Head Keeper Frank Croft. Amy Wilcock welcomed us to the estate on behalf of the Healey Family and Frank Croft, we thank Amy for co-ordinating the diary to allow the club to run on the ground.

On a somewhat breezy and chilly May day, the club held it’s first and I hope not last Working Test at Buskhill, by kind permission of James and Elizabeth Needler, great ground, thank you James for offering it to the club. We would also like to thank Vale  of York for sharing the ground with us, the two clubs continue to work together covering the same geographical area and supporting each other in all we do.

Today was the clubs last Working Test of 2023 a Walked Up Test run on FT lines, in Sugarbeet by kind permission of Graham Atkinson. The strange weather we’ve been experiencing has certainly made the beet grow, it was thick and tall and the dogs and people had to work very hard to negotiate it.

As it comes towards the end of the clubs 2023 Working Test season, we held our penultimate test at the fantastic Aske Hall Estate in grounds overlooked by the majestic hall and featuring the beautiful lake.

Yesterday the club held its fourth Working Test of 2023 on the magnificent grounds of Warter Priory Estate by kind invitation of the Healey Family and Head Keeper Frank Croft.

The club would like to thank Mr Julian Fenton and Head Keeper Mr Andrew Richards for allowing the club to hold its third Working Test of 2023 at Studley Royal, nr Ripon. The day started very damp, but soon brightened up and everyone stayed dry.

The club held it’s second Working Test of 2023 at Skipster Hagg, nr Kirkbymoorside on Sunday 16 April by kind permission of Mrs Anne Procope. Anne as always was an exceptional host, parking was challenging due to wet conditions and even though we left a very chewed up field Anne’s response was “it will be fine, the grass will grow” Thank you to the judges, Phil Smithies, Mark Wilson, Eden Parish and Becki Thistle, who set some great tests on the interesting ground.

Yesterday the club held its first Working Test of 2023, we had to postpone in March due to the snow and the weather wasn’t much kinder to us yesterday. The Judges, Competitors and dummy throwers braved the cold and wet to have a thoroughly good day.

The club has enjoyed a very successful schedule of Static Working Tests this year with 30 Open and 30 Novice dogs competing at most events.

The penultimate Working Test of 2022 was held on 23 July at Aske Hall by kind permission of The Earl of Ronaldshay. Aske Hall with it’s rolling parkland, lake and woodland, provides a fantastic venue for a competition, the club is very lucky to hold an event in these grounds and the club thanks the land owner and his staff for making the ground available to us.

A twenty Open dog, walked up test was run in Fodder beet in the morning by kind permission of the Atkinson family.
