Our very popular Evening Training sessions resume in April 2027 starting at Allerton Park near Knaresborough then continue at Ribston Hall in May/June

What can be better than training your dog amongst this stunning parkland with an amazing range of trainers and with like-minded people?

Starting 5.45pm til dusk. Groups are split by ability of dog/trainer. Pre Novice (inc puppies 9 months - 18 mnths), Novice, Advanced Novice and Open. Groups will be a max of 8 but more likely 6 dogs.

We are fortunate to have a range of trainers who kindly give us their time. The list of trainers can be seen at the top of this page.

We've extended our puppy classes to 6 sessions this year.  

Each session is around 1 hour long and aimed at puppies 3-9 months with a maximum 6 puppies in the group.

The sessions will cover all the necessary basics including heel work, recall, focus, basic obedience and retrieving games in new environments for your puppy as well as learning to work with other dogs around too.

An introduction to working tests day. Ideal if you're new to gundog training or for your dog if they are recently starting on their training

In the morning there will be training by group followed by lunch and refreshments. Then in the afternoon there's a mock working test.

We have 3 levels of training groups to choose from:

• Puppy’s 9 – 18 months

• Novice Dog/Novice Handler

• Novice Dog

The morning will be training in groups on a variety of working test scenarios with our trainers who will be confirmed nearer the time

The trainers will explain what Judges are looking for in Working Tests and how the scoring works. Alongside ironing out any issues you’ve picked up over winter or iif you have a puppy this is a great intro for your puppy to the sport.

After lunch you will get the chance to enter a mock working test within your group level and hopefully win a rosette!

Cost: £75 including lunch and refreshments

Preparing you and your dog for walked up competitions.

On these Walked Up Training Day, the trainers will set up a number of examples for you and your dog that are designed to replicate scenarios typically found in Walked Up Working Tests.

Mock Walked Up Test - optional extra

On the second day - 10th July - there will be an added optional extra of a Mock Walked Up Novice Test after lunch for an additional cost of £15

These days are open to dogs at any level and the retrieves will be set up to reflect each individuals experience and ability.

Last year members attending praised the event for it's usefulness as well as it's opportunity to catch up with other handlers in a non-pressured setting. As a result of it's popularity we are putting on 2 days this year.

This is a training day for dogs at Open levels with Tom and Mike Birchall of Humberflair Gundogs
