Inter Team Gundog Working Test at Chatsworth Country Fair 2025

Fri 29th - Sunday 31st August 2025

We have just returned from a brilliant 3 days at Chatsworth Country Fair, it is a great event to visit with the added bonus of the Gundog Working Tests.

Our team were Graham Slater, Russ Hodgen and Darren Thompson

The ground at Chatsworth was beautiful with some great views from the grandstand of the working test area but very challenging for the competitors who had a really limited view of their dogs when working. That upped the viewing excitement and probably the adrenaline for handlers!

On Day one, the Friday, Committee Member Graham Slater come 2nd in the individual competition, many congratulations to Graham.

Then the big event on Saturday and Sunday was the two day Inter Team Gundog Working Test, with Graham as Team Captain for the Three Ridings team. Whilst the team didn’t make the top five, they represented the club well, picking all 18 retrieves and with a final placing of 7th. Graham was in the running for best handler for the event but sadly was pipped to the post by Tom Birchall.

We'd like to thank our team and all the people who helped support both before and during the event and all those that made the trip over to Derbyshire to be there to enjoy the event and watch.
